The Après Ski Club, a not-for-profit organization, hosted its annual SKOP 2006! (Snow season Kick-Off Party 2006!) on Friday November 17, 2006 beginning at 6:00 PM at the Techmart in Santa Clara, CA. The general public was invited to learn more about Après, win great prizes and to have a fun evening. The admission price of $25 also included dinner and live music.

This event is a trade show and celebration, which brings representatives from the winter sports industry in contact with not only Après Ski Club members but also the general public. The SKOP serves as both a membership and fundraising drive and is the premier party of the year in the Bay Area.

We are pleased to announce that this year’s event featured live music by The Joe Sharino Band, one of the most popular dance bands in the Bay Area. The Joe Sharino Band has won fifteen Best Band Awards in Northern California from the San Jose Mercury News, Metro Magazine, Good Times Magazine, KGO Radio, San Francisco and Accent Magazine.

Après members were on hand to discuss the many benefits offered by the club including our fully owned lodge on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe in Kings Beach, CA, our popular annual ski trips and our successful race team.

Après Ski Club, the Bay Area’s premier not-for-profit singles ski club, is the largest independent ski club in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley. We have a proud 35-year history as a year round sporting and social activities club. Après is an active member of the Bay Area Council of Ski Clubs (BAC) and the Far West Ski Association (FWSA) with its championship Race Team competing and winning the Open League Championships for several years. Our members are active singles who are 21 or older. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, our members are also active in tennis, biking, hiking, camping, water-sports, and many social activities.
